High Country Health Care System is a non-profit, private, community based, home health care organization that has been in the business of providing home health services to Alleghany, Ashe and Watauga counties for over 30 years. We operate through a joint venture of Ashe Memorial Hospital and Appalachian District Health Department. High Country Health Care System is accredited by the Joint Commission.

The mission of High Country Health Care System is to provide comprehensive and quality services in the home at a reasonable cost to residents of our service area, to provide health education, to promote healthy living and maintenance of a safe home environment.
